Why did we move to Alton? / ¿Por qué nos mudamos a Alton?

Recently the firm bought a building located at 325 Market in Alton. We have been asked dozens of times why we moved to Alton. Why would we want a 20-minute drive to work rather than a 5-minute drive? There are lots of good reasons. Here are a few:

1. We believe that Alton is on the rise. The people and businesses are working together. The city administration is promoting growth near the river. I’ve lived in growing towns and dying towns and (hopefully) can guess the direction of a community. The future looks good in Alton, so…
2. Because a boom hasn’t hit Alton quite yet, there are still remarkable real estate opportunities in Alton. We own this beautiful building and invested in remodeling it…and the mortgage is less than half of what the rent was in prior locations. It’s simply a great investment opportunity, and…
3. MOST IMPORTANTLY…towns like Alton are where our clients live. We all work for a living, but these folks sweat, lift, carry; they run machines and factories and take risks for the job. The majority of our clients are folks in towns like Alton, Granite City, East Alton, Jerseyville, Belleville, and dozens of other small communities throughout southern Illinois. We have some fantastic clients from my home town(s) but the overwhelming majority are the folks who live in blue collar, hardworking communities.
