Zealously argued case in the 4th District Appellate Court

Mr. Short argued a case in the Fourth District Appellate Court on behalf of his client, a former director of physical rehabilitation for a nursing home. As director of physical therapy, she was required to work part time as a therapist with the remainder of her time dedicated to managerial tasks, including scheduling, chart reviews, and program development.
A significant portion of her job for a work day in 2009 consisted of transferring residents in and out of wheelchairs so they could perform therapy. She noticed a gradual onset of pain in her arms and neck from repeating her daily activities of helping to lift and transfer the residents.
